 Raw Materials for Coated Abrasives
Gerard Kluyskens Company, Inc. represents in the International Market most of the leading Amercian producers of abrasive grains and backings. We offer:

Abrasive Grains

Aluminum Oxides
  • Brown; heat treated; ceramically coated. Projectability treated for electro static systems
  • ANSI graded sizes as fine as mesh #1000
  • FEPA grading available
Silicon Carbides 
  • High purity black silicon carbide in sizes to #3000; ANSI and FEPA P grading
  • Special sharp shape for optimum results
Natural Abrasives  
  • We supply Barton RT® Garnet, universally accepted as the premier garnet for coated abrasives; unique crystalline structure and friability for high stock removal and excellent surface finish. Also available with RTX® (projectability) treatment.

 

Bonds 

Latex: For waterproof paper we supply Hycar Nitrile Emulsions. This product is very tough, resilient, oil and grease resistant. Suitable for coatings and for saturants.

Adhesives  

  • Special natural animal hide glues in a wide range of viscosities
  • Urea resin and epoxy resin systems
  • Adhesives for overlap and butt joints

Abrasive Grains and related products for the GRINDING WHEEL INDUSTRY have been an integral part of marketing effots of Gerard Kluyskens Company, Inc. for over 75 years. The products have been specifically developed for this industry and are produced under stringent controls to ensure highest quality standards. We offer the following products:

Abrasive Grains

Aluminum Oxides  
  • Regular brown; semi friable; pink; white; heat treated; ceramically coated
  • In sizes as fine as mesh 1000 and classigied powders (F sizes)
  • Also: zirconium-aluminum oxides
Silicon Carbides  
  • First quality black silicon carbide; mesh 8 to 3000
  • Highest purity green silicon carbide; mesh 12 to 1000
Natural Grains for Special Applications  
  • Garnet
  • Emery
  • Corundum
  • Flint
Bonds and Fillers 

Resins  
  • Synthetic phenolic resins, both powders and liquids; standard and modified (epoxy, novolac, etc.). Powders available in various particle sizes and hexa contents. Special grades for all applications, from cut-off to snagging wheels
Special Bonds  
  • Natural and synthetic rubber bonds, both powdered and liquid
  • Clays for vitrified wheels
Fillers 
  • Alumina bubbles for special porosity wheels
  • Aluminum oxide and silicon carbide unclassified powders
  • Iron pyrites, cryolite, carbosota, resin coated salts, walnut shells, lime and other additives for imparting unique and special characteristics to the wheels
Glass Fibre 
    Reinforcements  
    • Speical phenolic-impregnated glass fibre mesh in rolls and die cut discs. For maximum wheel strength and resilience. Available in carious thicknesses, mesh openings and impregnations for optimum results in all types of reinforced grinding wheels
    Specialties  
    • Unique teflon coated glass fibre woven material for separating wheels during curing operations; used many times in the place of ceramic slabs
